Getting started

How do I create my free business listing

Go to add your business, create your free account, and fill in your primary business information. It takes a few minutes, no card is needed, and the free plan is a working listing rather than a trial that expires.

What to have ready

The form asks for the details a directory needs to list you correctly, so gather these first and the whole thing takes a few minutes:

  • Your business name exactly as you want it to appear everywhere
  • Your public phone number
  • Your full address, including city, state, postal code, and country
  • Your website address if you have one
  • The primary category that best describes what you do
  • A description of your business, at least 200 characters and no more than 750

Create your listing step by step

  1. Open add your business and choose Add your business free.
  2. Create your account with your email address or by continuing with Google.
  3. On the first onboarding step, enter your website address if you have one. On the Pro and Elite plans Locible can use it to prefill your details for you. On other plans you simply continue and enter them yourself.
  4. Fill in the primary information form: business name, phone, address, city, state, postal code, country, primary category, and your description. Save it.
  5. On the connect step you can link your Google Business Profile so your existing reviews flow into Locible. This step is optional and you can come back to it later.

Finish the rest of your profile

Primary information is the minimum. Your business profile has three more sections that raise your profile score and make the listing look like it belongs to a real, active business:

  • Business details for your tagline, contact email, opening hours, and your logo
  • Social media for the profiles customers already follow you on
  • Keywords for the services and terms people search for when they need you

Each form saves on its own, and the profile also saves quietly in the background while you work, so a half finished section is never lost. Our guide on improving your business profile score walks through which of these fields moves the number most.

What happens after you submit

Your profile starts as a draft. Once your details are in place it is published to the public Locible directory, where it gets its own page that customers and search engines can find. The next article, how do I publish my business profile, covers exactly what has to be complete and how to preview the result.

Everything above is free. When you want your details pushed out to other directories, AI drafted replies to your reviews, or the review request tool, compare what each tier adds on the pricing page or read through the features in depth.

Key takeaways

  • The free plan gives you a real public listing, a profile score, and a digital business card.
  • Have your address, phone, website, category, and a description of at least 200 characters ready before you start.
  • Your description must be between 200 and 750 characters, which is the one field people most often get stuck on.
  • Nothing is charged, and no card is requested, to create the listing.
