How do I publish my business profile
Complete your primary business information, then use Preview listing on your business profile to see exactly how your page will look. A profile stays a draft until it is published to the Locible directory, and once it is live it has its own address in the form locible.com/b/your-business.
What has to be complete first
A directory page is only useful if the basics are right, so the primary information section has to be complete before anything else matters:
- Business name, phone number, and full address
- City, state, postal code, and country
- Your primary category
- A description between 200 and 750 characters
Your business profile page shows a completeness ring and a count of the fields still outstanding on each tab, so you never have to guess what is holding you up. Adding a logo, your hours, a social profile, and a few keywords is not required to be listed, but each one lifts your profile score and makes the page far more convincing.
Preview your listing
- Open your business profile in the dashboard.
- Choose Preview listing.
- Read the card the way a customer would. Check the spelling of your business name, the phone number, the opening hours, and whether the description actually explains what you do.
- Fix anything that reads badly and preview again.
The preview is built from the same component the live page uses, so there is no gap between the preview and the real thing.
Going live in the directory
Once your profile is published it appears in the Locible directory, on the city and category pages that match your details, and on its own public page. That page is what customers land on, what you can link to from your own site, and what your review invitations point at.
Publishing is also one of the checks behind your profile score, so the number you see on your dashboard will move once your page is live.
If your profile has not appeared
Work through these in order:
- Check your business profile for outstanding fields. An incomplete primary section is the usual cause.
- Confirm your description is at least 200 characters. It will not save below that.
- Confirm your city and state are filled in and spelled the way you want them shown.
- If everything is complete and your page still has not appeared, send us your business name from the contact page and we will look at the record directly.
Getting listed is the first step rather than the finish line. Once your page is live, read how does listing sync work to push the same details out to other directories, and our guide on local visibility for small businesses for the wider picture. If you want more reach than the free plan gives, the pricing page lays out what each tier adds.
Key takeaways
- Every required primary field must be filled in, and your description must be between 200 and 750 characters.
- Preview listing shows the real public card, not an approximation, so what you see is what visitors get.
- A published profile gets its own public page at locible.com/b/your-business.
- Publishing your listing is one of the things your profile score rewards.
