How do AI review replies work
Open Reputation in your dashboard, choose Generate AI reply on a review, and Locible drafts a reply based on the review and your saved tone. You read it, edit anything you want, and publish it. Each draft costs one token.
Nothing is published on your behalf unless you switch autopilot on yourself.
Where your reviews come from
The Reputation page gathers your reviews into one inbox. Reviews left on your Locible profile appear immediately. Reviews from a connected Google Business Profile come in through the official Google connection, so replies you publish from Locible show up on Google as your business.
Nothing is invented, scraped, or seeded. If a review is in the inbox, a real customer wrote it.
Draft and send a reply
- Open Reputation in your dashboard.
- Find the review you want to answer. The inbox is filtered by state, so you can see what still needs a reply.
- Choose Generate AI reply. One token is spent and a draft appears in the reply box, along with how many tokens you have left.
- Read it properly. Change anything that does not sound like you, add the detail only you would know, and cut anything that overpromises.
- Publish. For a Google review the button reads Update on Google, because the reply is written back to the source.
If a draft is not right, you can regenerate a fresh one, which costs another token. You can also edit a reply you have already published, and the update goes back to the source.
Making replies sound like you
Three settings sit above the inbox and shape every reply the AI writes:
- Tone sets the register, from friendly and warm through to concise and professional.
- Custom instructions is free text for the things only you know to mention, for example a guarantee you offer or a phrase you always use.
- Signature adds your sign off, so the reply reads as coming from a named person rather than a company.
Save the settings and every draft from then on uses them. Saved settings and autopilot are Pro capabilities; see the pricing page for what each tier includes.
Autopilot, and what it changes
Autopilot is the toggle at the top of the Reputation page, and it is off until you turn it on. While it is off, the AI only drafts when you ask, and nothing is ever published without you.
Switch it on and new reviews are drafted, replied to, and published automatically using your tone, instructions, and signature. Two things are worth knowing before you do:
- Turn on hold 1 and 2 star reviews for my approval so the difficult ones are drafted but wait for you.
- Autopilot spends tokens as it works, and it stops when you run out. See how does the token system work for what each action costs.
Replies only matter if reviews keep arriving, so pair this with how to get more customer reviews. You can also see how the whole reputation toolkit fits together on the features page, and if you are not listed yet you can add your business free.
Key takeaways
- Generating a draft costs one token; editing and publishing it costs nothing extra.
- Tone, custom instructions, and a signature shape every reply the AI writes.
- Autopilot is off by default and is a Pro capability. With it on, new reviews are drafted and published for you.
- Turn on hold for 1 and 2 star reviews so difficult ones always wait for a human.
